What does telehealth mean?

Telehealth is a term used for virtual appointments via an online video conferencing platform. Telehealth also includes phone calls during the Covid 19 Pandemic. All video conferencing tools can be used on your phone, tablet, or laptop that has a camera, with no downloading necessary.

Confidentiality is a priority at Northeast Couple and Family Therapy, and all video platforms that are used come with a Business Associate Agreement I have signed ensuring they are HIPAA compliant.

What does virtual therapy session entail?

A virtual session includes a 45 or 60 minute meeting on a HIPAA compliant and confidential video conferencing platform. You can log on from the comfort of your home with the video tool that you will be given access to once you become a client.

Please be aware that video or phone calls made inside or from a moving vehicle will result in a cancellation or rescheduling of your appointment. Cancellation fees may apply. For your privacy and safety please only engage in a virtual session from a secure and private location.

Co-pays are collected via credit card at the end of every session. For family and couple sessions please schedule a time when you can be together in one space to video call.

What is the process of therapy like?

Depending on your needs we will discuss the process of how long treatment should entail, how often we would meet and continually assess that goals are being met or need to be met throughout the counseling process.

Please e-mail or call to schedule a free consultation, check insurance benefits, and schedule an appointment.

If necessary a referral will be provided for appropriate care. Once you become a client you will be directed to an online portal to fill out all required treatment forms including agreement to treatment, demographic and insurance information, and the privacy policy agreement.

Cancellation Policy

Please allow a 24 hour notice for cancellations. Cancellations less than 24 hours notice will result in a $75 cancellation fee.

As of January 1, 2022 The No Surprises Act requires healthcare providers to make available good faith estimates to uninsured and self pay clients before services are rendered. Clients are protected from receiving surprise medical bills resulting from out-of-network care for emergency services, and certain scheduled services without prior client consent.
